A resin detail set from the Czech maker CMK, meant for a model of the German Type IX submarine in 1:72 scale. It is not a model of a submarine but an accessory that makes it possible to open the stern deck hatch used for loading the rear torpedoes with the ship's winch. The set holds a stern torpedo, a winch and a loading cart. The masters are designed in 3D, the main parts are in resin and the finest sections are cast by a different technology for the strength required.
Type IX submarines were large ocean-going U-boats of the Kriegsmarine with a long range, deployed on distant patrols during the Second World War. The rear torpedo tubes were reloaded through the deck hatch opened from above and with the help of a winch, which this set captures faithfully.
First wash the mold release off the parts, carefully separate the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The set stands out splendidly with an open deck and a lit reloading scene.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
