U-Boot IX - weapon conversion with a 105 mm gun and a Flak-Vierling, 1:72: a CMK resin set for completing the deck and anti-aircraft armament of a Type IX submarine.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail and conversion set from CMK, not a model of a submarine. The set holds a 105 mm (10.5 cm) deck gun and the four-barrel 20 mm anti-aircraft gun, the Flak-Vierling. The barrels are turned from metal, and photo-etched sheet completes the fine parts such as handwheels.
Some of the Type IX submarines, and of the earlier Type VII, carried a heavy deck gun of 105 mm caliber for fighting merchant ships on the surface. As the threat from the air grew, anti-aircraft armament was added: the 20 mm Flak-Vierling (a set of four barrels) was used on other Kriegsmarine vessels as well. Both weapons can also be used for ship decks and dioramas.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash and degrease them; bond the metal barrels and the etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend primer, the darker gray shades of naval armament and a final emphasis with a wash and a dry brush.
This is an aftermarket accessory in resin, not a model of a submarine. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
