An injection-molded plastic kit of the German military ambulance built on the off-road Unimog chassis, in 1:72. The ambulance body is a closed box with a tall outline, so the finished model looks unmistakable and will not be lost among combat vehicles in a diorama.
The Unimog of the 404 series was an off-road truck with portal axles, which gave the vehicle exceptional ground clearance, and with drive to both axles. It was exactly the ability to get through where an ordinary truck sticks fast that made it a workhorse of armies, fire services and civil organizations for decades. The ambulance form carried a closed box body with room for stretcher cases and served for evacuation from places a road-chassis ambulance could not reach. The vehicle stayed in service for an exceptionally long time and was built in large numbers.
The body is a large flat surface, so fill the joints carefully and sand them down, because every seam shows there. Finish the cab and the interior before you close the cab up. Ambulances tended to be maintained and clean, so concentrate the weathering on the chassis, the wheels and the lower part of the body. The markings of the medical service are prominent on the model, so settle the decals onto gloss varnish and with a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
