Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with forty-eight figures of German infantry as they appeared at the start of the First World War. Eight different poses give enough variation for a whole platoon, and the set is supplied unpainted.
German infantry entered the war in 1914 in field gray and with a leather spiked helmet that became the symbol of the first year of the war; it was covered with a cloth cover so that the shiny metal and the colored plate would not show. Trench warfare soon condemned it, because it gave no protection against shell splinters, and in 1916 it was replaced by the steel helmet. That is precisely why the 1914 appearance is a subject in its own right: the army looked different from the rest of the war. The equipment was heavy and reckoned with marching, not with soldiers spending years in a trench.
Keep the field gray lighter than reality would suggest, otherwise the figures in 1:72 merge into a dark mass. Make the helmet cover a shade different from the coat so that it separates. Darken the leather equipment toward brown and do the straps last with a fine brush. With forty-eight figures it pays to work in waves and to leave the faces for last.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
