Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds thirty-two unpainted figures of Scottish foot regiments of the First World War. The figures are molded in one piece. The set combines well with the British foot and weapon units of the same scale, with which the Scottish battalions formed part of the same division.
Even in trench warfare the Scottish regiments kept the kilt and other elements of traditional dress that set them apart from the rest of the British infantry. In the field the kilt was covered with a canvas apron so as not to be conspicuous, and in the cold and mud of the Western Front it proved impractical. Even so it remained a mark the regiments took pride in, and the period nicknames bear witness to the dread they inspired in the enemy.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Do not paint the checked pattern of the kilt literally at this scale: a darker base and two thin lines in two directions are enough, and the eye will fill the pattern in for itself. Shade the khaki tunic with a glaze. Create mud on the boots and the lower hem with pigment; that is exactly what places a trench scene.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
