A set in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains fifty-six figures in twelve poses, four 10.5 centimeter field howitzers and machine guns. It is therefore the complete support element of an Ottoman infantry unit of the First World War. The parts are supplied unpainted and the weapons have to be assembled.
The Ottoman army entered the war armed largely with German guns, and its artillery was trained by German officers. It was precisely the accurate artillery support, together with well chosen positions, that decided the defense of Gallipoli, where the Allied landing was held in a narrow strip of coast. The machine guns then had a devastating effect on the steep slopes of the peninsula.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Ottoman field color ranges between khaki and sand, and the headgear differed according to unit and period. Set the howitzers into prepared positions with an earth parapet; a gun standing on its own looks empty in a diorama. Fill out the machine gun nests with crates and ammunition belts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
