It is not a kit and not a part of an aircraft; it is a standalone figure for a diorama, for a base beside a finished model or for a display case. On the deck of an American aircraft carrier the crew is told apart by the color of the jersey and the helmet, because in the noise and the blast of air from the engines color is the only mark that can be read quickly. Yellow belongs to the people who direct the movement of the aircraft around the deck, guide them onto the catapult and marshal them for launch and after they have been caught by the arresting wire. Clean and degrease the figure before painting and work with it mounted on a skewer or a toothpick. Yellow is a covering color that is demanding about its base; it goes on better over a light undercoat and in several thin coats than in one heavy one. Then darken the jersey slightly in the folds so that it does not look like flat paper, and lighten the edges with a dry brush instead. Leave the face and the small details for last and use a very sharp brush; in 1:72 scale the eyes only need to be suggested. Protect the finished figure with matte varnish so that the paint does not rub off during handling. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
