A green metallic paint, Mecha Color, the last of the colored metal three. A water-thinnable acrylic in a 17 ml dropper bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The number 69.068 closes the metallic part of the Mecha Color line and is the green one of the colored three. The tone aims toward a bottle rather than an olive green, and as the part moves a metallic glint appears in it. The closest comparison from nature is the wing case of a beetle: the color stays green but changes saturation depending on where the light falls on it from.
Modelers reach for it on machines that are meant to look organic or alien. It works well on segmented armor, tail sections, wing covers and anywhere the surface is meant to suggest chitin. It also finds a more civilian use, on painted cowlings and tanks, or as a contrasting stripe on an otherwise gray machine. It is not intended for large camouflage areas.
The ground must be dark and smooth, because it is precisely from it that the light passing through the colored coat reflects. Apply the paint thinly, repeatedly, and let the film cure between passes. An airbrush gives the most even surface; by brush the paint is usable on small parts where the strokes are lost. When it is finished, varnishing over is recommended, or the surface will be rubbed while the model is assembled.
The volume amounts to seventeen milliliters, the binder is acrylic and it thins with water. The metal component settles, so stir the contents up properly before every session. Wipe the residue off the neck so that the cap seats well. The shade can be tuned further by mixing within the line: a drop of black darkens it to an almost bottle tone, a drop of silver shifts it toward a lighter metal without the green component disappearing.
