The large-format sculpture 75mm Pin-Up German Officer from Royal Model is the resin version of a kneeling pin-up figure at a size of 75 mm.

Royal Model offers this subject in two sizes and this is the larger version: a polyurethane resin casting belonging to the 75 mm range, which the manufacturer itself connects with 1:24 scale. The larger size means more work but also more room, because the features of the face, the seams of the clothing and the texture of the stockings all come out on it, where smaller scales only suggest them.
The uniform on the sculpture is stylized and has no ambition to serve as material for studying real equipment. Genre poster beauties were created as drawn humor and exaggeration, and the casting stays in exactly that register. Anyone looking for a faithful reconstruction of a period uniform will reach for documentary figures; this one is meant to catch the eye in a display case.
Before you start, degrease the surface and look at it against the light to see whether a bubble has been left in the casting; small flaws are repaired with putty better before the undercoat than after it. Stockings are painted from the skin outward: first the finished tone of the skin, then a very thin gray-black glaze in two or three coats, so that the fabric stays translucent. Build the hair from a dark base toward light strands and keep the sheen on the crown of the head only.
The sculpture is unpainted and without glue.
