PAG-14 airfield slabs in 1:32 scale are a set of parts for building a paved surface under a model aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set that imitates the prestressed concrete slabs of the PAG-14 type, from which the paved surfaces of military airfields were laid. It is done in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but the base beneath one: the slabs are assembled into a surface on which the model stands.
A model aircraft laid on a smooth board looks like something displayed in a shop. As soon as a surface made up of slabs with gaps between them lies beneath it, a setting is created and the finished work acquires a sense of scale. The PAG-14 slabs are moreover a mark of recognition in themselves, because surfaces at airfields across the Eastern Bloc were laid from them and their pattern is instantly recognizable.
Lay the surface out dry first and think about which way the gaps will run in relation to the model, because the regular grid should run along the runway, not at an angle. Concrete looks more convincing over a light gray base complemented by several shades that set the individual slabs slightly apart. A darker wash belongs in the gaps, and grass or dust between the slabs. Suggest the rubber marks from tires and the fuel stains with darker streaks where the equipment stands and taxis.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; neither glue nor paints are included in the package.
