A publication from the Kit Build series by the publisher Kagero devoted to the American Brewster F2A Buffalo fighter. The edition without a decal sheet.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Brewster F2A Buffalo was an American carrier fighter of the late 1930s - a cantilever low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and a radial engine, which became the first monoplane in the fighter squadrons of the US Navy. In the fighting in the Pacific and over the Malay Peninsula it failed to make its mark against faster opponents, yet in Finnish colors it did unexpectedly well. It was that Finnish service that made it a rewarding modeling subject, because it brought unusual finishes and striking markings.
The title was issued by the publisher Kagero in the Kit Build series, that is in an edition that accompanies the building of a plastic model of a particular type. The designation in the name clarifies that this is the form without a decal sheet - no decals are in the package, and you complete a model with decals from the kit or with a separate sheet.
A publication of this kind serves a modeler as support at the bench: it helps with deciding on a finish, on the placement of the national insignia and on the degree of wear you give a machine. It pays to go through it before opening the box, because some of the modifications are made before you glue the fuselage together. It also serves well after the build is finished, when you want to look up the context for a completed model.
It will be reached for by builders of aircraft from the start of the Second World War and by anyone interested in the American and Finnish air forces. The book is supplied on its own - the model, the decals and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
