Grass tufts with a growth height of 4 mm in an autumn shade, intended for dioramas, scenes and display bases under models and figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A grass tuft is a ready-made cluster of blades that is set onto a scene as a whole. Against loose scatter it has one substantial advantage: it stands up above the terrain, casts its own shadow and breaks up a uniform surface, so the landscape gains a third dimension. The figure of 4 mm corresponds to the height of the growth, so this is low to medium-high grass that will not grow over models or figures standing beside it. The words in the name describe dense growth and an autumn shade, so it suits scenes from late summer to winter.
Distribute them irregularly and in clusters of unequal size; a continuous, even band gives a scene away at first glance. Set a tuft on a drop of PVA or super glue and hold it for a moment until the joint becomes tacky. Check on the packaging whether the tuft has an adhesive underside of its own. Then cover the base of the tuft with fine scatter so that the trace of glue disappears and the transition into the terrain looks smooth. Once dry, the blades can be trimmed with scissors to an irregular height or gently toned with dry pigment.
They will be appreciated by builders of dioramas, display-case scenes and bases who want quick and convincing growth without mixing their own grass. The material is not tied to a single scale; with the size of the model only the density and the number of tufts used change.
A base, terrain material, a model, figures and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
