A tacky compound that lifts dust and small dirt off the surface of a model. Intended above all for water surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
A poured water surface is the most heavily taxed part of the scenery on a model railroad layout. A glossy surface catches every fiber and every particle the air brings, and wiping it with a cloth scratches the water. It is for exactly this problem that a tacky compound was created, one that lifts the dirt off the surface without having to be rubbed across it.
The compound is kneaded in the hand, laid onto the soiled place and lifted with light pressure, taking dust, small specks and stray bristles with it. The movement is a dabbing one, not a wiping one, so no matte smears are left on the water. It can be used on the other solid surfaces of a scene as well.
It safely picks dirt off water surfaces and other smooth parts of scenery that ordinary cleaning struggles to reach.
Lay it on, press, lift: three movements after which the water is clean again and nothing disturbs the reflection on it.
Cleaning is only the second step. The first is to stop so much dirt settling in the first place: it pays to cover a finished layout with a sheet, to sand and cut away from the scenery, and to lay paper under the surrounding area when working over a finished scene. The tacky compound will then deal with what is left and last considerably longer than if it had to handle everything.
