Eighth Route Army Soldier - a stylized plastic figure of a soldier from the cartoon model line of the maker Meng, without a particular scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of a stylized figure of a soldier in a cartoon, deliberately foreshortened form. It is not a model in a particular scale but a decorative figure from the cartoon model line of the maker Meng, where the subject is turned into a big head and simplified proportions.
The designation Eighth Route Army was carried by one of the Chinese army formations in the period of the Second Sino-Japanese War in the years 1937 to 1945. The model keeps to the period look of the uniform, the headgear and the equipment carried, but transfers them into a cartoon stylization, so it does not serve as an exact documentary reconstruction but as a decorative model.
Stylized figures are made up of a small number of parts and the build is quick; the main work lies in the painting. First wash the parts, clean up the parting lines and lay on a thin filler primer, because on large smooth surfaces every scratch shows. Paint the uniform and the equipment with acrylics and build the face up from a base flesh tone through the highlights to the shadows. The big head gives plenty of room for practicing shading, so the model also suits as a practice piece before painting figures in the usual scales. Even the surface out with a matte coat at the end. It pays to dry-fit the model, paint it in sub-assemblies and glue it together only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
