This is a modeling paint, not a kit. Flat Flesh belongs to the Vallejo Model Color line - flat, heavily pigmented water-based acrylic paints the manufacturer developed above all for brush application. The paint is on the thick side and before airbrushing you have to thin it with water or a thinner for acrylics. It comes in a 17 ml bottle with a dropper, which is essential for painting figures - skin shades are almost always mixed and a dropper lets you dose drop by drop and repeat the ratio.
Flat Flesh is a flat flesh tone, that is, the classic starting shade for the skin, faces and hands of figures. The flat surface is intentional here: gloss on skin looks false in scale and kills the readability of a face.
The most common mistake is leaving skin in one flat coat - plain flesh tone looks flat and dead. You reach realism through shading: into folds, under the chin, into the eye sockets and between the fingers lay a darker glaze (heavily thinned paint that runs into recesses), and on the raised places - forehead, nose, cheekbones, finger joints - a lighter shade instead, made by mixing in white or beige. Work in several thin, well thinned coats rather than one heavy one. Blend the transitions with a damp brush while they are still wet.
For modelers of figures in any scale - from military figures through vehicle crews to fantasy miniatures. Suitable for beginners as well, who are only building their palette of skin shades.
The paint is water-thinnable, yet spraying with an airbrush still creates an aerosol - work in a well ventilated space or at an extraction booth and protect your airways with a respirator. Keep out of the reach of children. Close the bottle carefully after use.
