Turf in a light green color for making foliage. It is scattered onto the armature of a bush or a tree and creates a mass of leaves with an irregular edge that light passes through.

Nothing gives a model away faster than greenery brushed on. Real foliage has an irregular edge, there are holes between the branches and light passes through it. Loose turf imitates that behavior by its very nature: every grain is different, a layer never dries into a flat surface and the edge of a crown stays ruffled exactly as it should be.
The armature of a bush or a tree is first coated with scenic glue, and then the turf is dipped into it or scattered onto it through a sieve. The surplus is shaken off once dry and used again. The best impression comes from laying two or three close greens over one another, with the lighter one left on top, where the sun would fall in nature.
The turf has an even color in itself, so finished growth will take a light misting of thinned green or brown, which increases the color scatter further. A bag of this volume will cover several bushes or one mature crown, though the exact consumption depends on how thickly the material is laid.
Growth is most often spoiled by relying on a single shade. In nature a crown is dark from below and lit from above, there are color differences between bushes and dry places turn brown. It is enough, therefore, to add one darker green to this one and a pinch of brown; the eye registers the difference before it can judge the shape.
