Eight complementary shades for combat equipment: old and new wood, canvas, leather, the glass of periscopes, lettering and two earths for muddying a chassis.
Responsibility details are not available.
Almost anyone can manage the basic camouflage. The difference between a nice and a convincing model is made by the small things around it, and these eight are put together for exactly those. None of the shades will cover a whole hull, but each has its place, one that no other color can hit.
The pair Old Wood and New Wood takes care of tool handles. An axe strapped to a fender since 1942 looks different from a freshly issued shovel, and having both tones side by side is the quickest way to make that show. Leather Belt belongs on straps, loops and pouches, Canvas on tarpaulins, bags and covers drawn down.
A special role is played by Periscopes, a tone between green and blue, such as the glass of optics has when seen from outside. On the prisms of vision blocks and on periscopes it creates an impression of depth that black on its own never gives. Stencil, in turn, is mixed for stenciled lettering, numbers and unit markings, so that it does not glare like a pure white.
The last pair is made by Light Mud and Dark Mud. The lighter one suits dried dust on the upper areas, the darker one fresh deposits in the wheel wells and between the wheels. As a pair they let you grade how long the vehicle has been driving and through what ground.
These are water-thinnable acrylics with a deep matte surface, which takes dry brushing and pigments laid on later well.
