A bright silver metallic shade from the Gunze Mr. Color modeling line, intended mainly for spraying with a gun.

In metallic shades, tiny metal flakes float which have to lie flat side by side once dry. Only then do they reflect light in one direction and the surface looks like polished metal rather than a gray coat with glitter in it. Everything else follows from that: the flakes settle to the bottom of the bottle, so the contents have to be stirred really thoroughly, not just shaken for a couple of seconds.
Smoothness under a silver coat cannot be made up for by anything applied later. Every scratch, every mark from abrasive paper and every remnant of putty is emphasized under metal, because a reflection on an unevenness changes direction. The best results come on a smooth gloss surface, ideally a dark one, which gives the metal depth. It is sprayed at low pressure from a greater distance and in several light passes, because a heavy wet coat floats the flakes about and the sheen disappears.
The solvent binder dries in a few minutes and the surface is then sensitive to touch; a greasy fingerprint leaves a permanent mark in it. Apply masking tape only once it has cured sufficiently, and it is better to peel the tape off the back of your hand first so it loses some of its tack. A matte overcoat reliably kills the metallic effect, so if you need to knock the sheen back, reach at most for a semi-gloss version. When you add a wash over the surface, choose one without an aggressive solvent, otherwise it will take off what you have just sprayed.
