Titans Hobby Pin Vise 02, a hand pin vise for drill bits 0.5 to 3.0 mm

A hand pin vise, that is a holder for drill bits, with which you drill by turning it in your fingers. The manufacturer gives a clamping range of 0.5 to 3.0 mm, so it covers the thicker drill bits from half a millimeter up. It is not a kit or an accessory for a model but a tool.

Use

• drilling out gun barrels, exhausts and vents on plastic parts
• holes for brass wire, tube and pins when joining parts
• preparing holes for pins when gluing resin parts
• holes for wheel axles, axle stubs and hinges on military vehicles
• carefully opening up molded holes in a kit

Who it is for

For modelers who want to drill precisely and without the risk that a high-speed mini drill will tear the part. A hand pin vise gives you complete control over the cut and is therefore safer in fine plastic and in resin than a powered tool: the hand sets the speed, so the material does not overheat and the bit does not jump off center. The range from half a millimeter up covers the diameters a modeler needs most often, that is barrels, exhausts and holes for brass wire in the usual sizes. Thinner drill bits from a tenth of a millimeter up are covered in the same range by the Pin Vise 01, so the two versions complement each other and do not overlap needlessly.

Drill bits are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. When drilling, hold the part in a support or in a vise, not in your hand, and protect your eyes from flying chips of plastic. Mark the place for the hole with a point first so that the bit does not wander across the smooth surface.
