Figures of the foot warriors of the steppe peoples in 1:72 scale. It is the third set of a line of the same name, so it can be put together with the earlier parts and a whole host built up from them step by step. In 1:72 scale an adult figure stands roughly two and a half centimeters tall, so many of them fit into a display case and onto a gaming table, and a scene can be genuinely populous.
Into historical dioramas, into battle formations for tabletop games and as an accessory to wagons, tents and herds. Foot warriors give a scene depth precisely because they are low to the ground: they fill the space between riders and buildings over which the viewer's eye would otherwise slide without stopping. They work well even in small numbers, if you set them out in twos and threes instead of a regular rank.
First check what material the figures are made of. Soft plastic is recognized by bending, and paint holds on it considerably less well: washing in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, thorough drying and a flexible base coat laid on in a thin layer all help. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Paint in groups rather than piece by piece; you will save a great deal of time. Choose subdued shades and vary them slightly between the individual figures, so that the host does not look like a uniformed unit.
For builders of historical dioramas and players of battle games in 1:72 scale. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
