A decal sheet with US Army lettering 24 inches high, in black and in blue, 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package brings US Army decal lettering in 1:144 scale, in two color versions, black and blue. The figure of 24 inches is the height of the letters on the real machine; converted to 1:144 scale it works out at roughly 4.2 millimeters on the model. Lettering of this type appears on machines of the US Army, and it tends to be exactly the element that is missing from a kit in a small scale, or is printed inaccurately.
In 1:144 scale the result is decided above all by the cleanness of the lettering, because the shapes are tiny and a finished model is looked at from close up. A separate sheet of lettering is useful when you are building a machine for which the box decals do not fit, when you want to repair damaged lettering, or when you are building several machines at once and need a uniform typeface. Two color versions on one sheet give you freedom in choosing a particular machine.
Apply the lettering onto a finished gloss varnish, otherwise a white veil will appear under the film. Cut it out close to the letters, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it will slide on the backing paper. Move it into place, straighten it with a soft brush and squeeze the water out with a cloth from the center toward the edges. Over riveted joints and curves a decal softener will help. Once it has dried, give the model a coat of varnish, so that the edges of the film are not visible.
For modelers of small scales who are finishing machines of the US Army and want the markings to be accurate. Paints, varnish and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
