A finished collector's model of the French Dassault Mirage F1 fighter in 1:72 scale from Falcon Models, in the markings of the EC 2/30 Normandie-Niemen squadron. The model is cast in metal with additional plastic parts, painted and marked, so it is neither built nor glued. It has engraved panel lines, an opening canopy and extended landing gear. A stand is included, on which the machine can also be displayed in a flying position.
The Mirage F1 differs fundamentally from the earlier French fighters: instead of a delta wing it was given a conventional swept wing with a horizontal tail, which gave it better behavior on takeoff and in slow flight. The Normandie-Niemen squadron carries on the tradition of the French airmen who fought on the Eastern Front in the Second World War and took their name from the Neman River. The unit carried its designation on contemporary equipment as well.
The metal casting is heavier than a plastic model, so stand the stand on a firm surface. Wipe the surface with a soft dry cloth; cleaning agents can damage the printed markings. Do not display the model in direct sunlight, as the printed lettering will fade. Handle the opening canopy carefully, as the hinge is the most stressed place on the model.
It is a finished painted model, not a kit. No glue or paints are needed.
