The driver of a Willys light cross-country car as he looked in the European theater of the Second World War. The abbreviation ETO in the designation refers precisely to the European theater. A jeep driver was no mere chauffeur: he carried dispatch riders and officers, towed ammunition trailers, took the wounded away and spent most of the day with his vehicle.
One figure in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale in which most military vehicle kits are built. An adult figure in it measures roughly five centimeters. The figure is intended for the wheel of the vehicle: an empty vehicle on a diorama looks like an exhibit, whereas with a crew it becomes a scene at once. Try the seating dry before painting: the feet have to reach the pedals, the hands the wheel, and the knees must not press against the dashboard, otherwise the figure will float in the vehicle. Paint it away from the vehicle and seat it only when finished. Build the uniform from a dark base toward the highlights, leave the face for last and only suggest the eyes, because at this scale an overpainted gaze turns a soldier into a ghoul.
