A detail set from the Czech manufacturer HGW for completing the cockpit of the British Spitfire in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but a separate accessory: the belts are made of fine fabric microfiber and the buckles and fittings are photo-etched. The result looks faithful thanks to the natural sag of the cloth, which neither plastic nor purely photo-etched belts can repeat.
The Supermarine Spitfire was one of the best-known British fighters of the Second World War. Its cockpit used the harness system typical of RAF machines; the set imitates the shoulder and lap belts that held the pilot in the seat. It suits Spitfire models of various versions where the interior is visible under the sliding canopy.
The laser-cut fabric belts can be bent and shaped over the edge of a tool into a realistic form and are fixed with super glue. Glue the photo-etched buckles on spot by spot. The fabric is pre-printed, so a light emphasis of the shadows and a restrained dirtying is all that is needed.
This is an accessory set, not a model of an aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
