A set of four plastic figures in 1:35 scale from Master Box. It represents American paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division during the defense of Bastogne in December 1944, at the time of the Battle of the Bulge. It is not a vehicle model; it is a set of four figures intended to bring dioramas and scenes from the Second World War to life. Master Box is known for well rendered figures with expressive poses and period detail of uniforms and equipment.
In December 1944 the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army became famous for its tenacious defense of the Belgian town of Bastogne, a key road junction which the German offensive in the Ardennes surrounded. The paratroopers held out in encirclement and freezing cold until they were relieved. The figures show soldiers in the winter equipment of that campaign.
Separate the plastic figures carefully from the sprues and sand the joints. Apply a primer before painting. Winter uniforms, equipment and faces come out best painted with a brush using washes (glazes) and a dry brush to accent the relief. Careful painting adds to the credibility of an Ardennes scene.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
