Shape No. 11 is the classic straight blade with a long pointed tip, the one modelers use most often: the tip starts the cut exactly where you place it and the straight edge behind it carries the cut on. Ten pieces in a pack match the way blades are really used, which is that a dull blade is replaced rather than resharpened.
Seat a new blade in the holder so that it goes all the way home, otherwise it will work loose under pressure. Cut by drawing rather than pressing, and preferably in several passes, because a single deep pass more often snaps the plastic than cuts it. As soon as the blade stops biting and starts crushing the material, replace it, because a dull tip slips and slipping is the most common cause of cuts. Do not throw used blades loose into the bin.
