1:48 Sikorsky MH-53 E Sea Dragon - BASIC Kabuki Masks is a basic set of painting masks for a model of the heavy mine countermeasures helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the American Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon heavy helicopter in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki masking tape, that is, from a thin Japanese paper with a low-tack adhesive. The basic version covers the cockpit glazing, the other clear parts and the wheels. On a helicopter with this many windows a pre-cut set is a fundamental saving of time, because cutting by hand would take a whole evening.
The MH-53E Sea Dragon is the heaviest helicopter the US Navy has operated. It came out of the transport machine of the Sea Stallion family and is recognized by its massive side tanks, which gave it its characteristically bulky shape. Its main task is mine hunting: the machine tows an underwater device behind it with which it detonates or cuts the moorings of naval mines. Besides that it also serves for carrying cargo.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of hardening.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
