Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the Japanese A6M Zero carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki masking tape, that is from thin Japanese paper with a low-tack adhesive. The paper can be bent around the curve of a frame without creasing and leaves no sticky residue when removed. The set covers the A6M2, A6M3 and A6M5 variants. It is not an aircraft model and it is not decals.
The A6M Zero was a Japanese carrier fighter that at the start of the war in the Pacific outclassed practically everything it faced in both agility and range. The price for that was minimal protection for the pilot and the tanks. The versions differ from one another in the shape of the wingtips and the canopy: the A6M2 had long rounded tips, the A6M3 shortened square ones and the A6M5 rounded ones again, but shorter than on the A6M2. That is precisely why the set covers several variants.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing before sticking them down, otherwise the tape will not hold. Press the edges down firmly with a toothpick so that paint cannot creep under them. Spray thin coats and remove the mask while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of curing.
The set contains painting masks only. The paints and the model are not included in the package.
