A set of 47 mm rounds for the French SA 35 tank gun of the Second World War, 1:35 scale. An accessory for dioramas and for detailed building.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 47 mm SA 35 gun was among the most powerful tank weapons with which the French army entered the Second World War. It was carried by the medium and heavy types of the second half of the thirties, among others, and against the armored vehicles of the day it did well. The ammunition was divided into armor-piercing rounds with a massive projectile and high-explosive rounds intended against soft targets and firing positions, which can be told on a model by the shape of the nose of the projectile.
Loose rounds are a small thing that lends a scene credibility faster than another large element. They suit an open turret hatch, crates and stowage bins, the hands of a figure replenishing ammunition, or simply a tarpaulin beside a vehicle where an ammunition party is taking a delivery over. They serve just as well when building a turret interior, where the rounds are visible in their stowage bins.
Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and use super glue for gluing. Cartridge cases tend to be brass, that is a warm yellow metal brought to life by a dark wash and fine rubbing; the projectile has a different, flatter shade and on armor-piercing rounds a coat of paint as well. Apply the paint in thin coats so that the transition between the case and the projectile stays apparent.
The set is for builders of dioramas in 1:35 scale and for modelers finishing the interior or the surroundings of French vehicles from the start of the war. Paints and glue are not the contents of this set, unless stated otherwise.
