Vallejo Model Air Red 17 ml is a water-thinnable acrylic shade for the airbrush — a flame red matching the RAL 3000 standard. This is a modeling paint, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A red from the Model Air range by Vallejo, which the manufacturer ties to the RAL 3000 standard — flame red, a deep standardized shade. This is a modeling paint, not a kit. Model Air is a water-thinnable acrylic with finely ground pigments, formulated directly for spraying with an airbrush — it can be sprayed straight from the 17 ml dropper bottle, with no obligatory thinning. It dries to a matte finish.
Both carry the same name — Red — but they are two different products with a different shade:
Both are acrylics from the Model Air range and both spray straight from the bottle. They differ in shade and in the fact that this one matches the standard and the other does not. So make sure which of the two you need.
Red has weak covering power — over a dark or gray surface it looks dirty and needs a great many coats. So always apply it over a white or light base, ideally over a white primer. Spray several thin coats instead of one heavy one. Shake the paint well before use and wash the airbrush right after work.
For modelers who need a red to a specific standard — not just any red. It suits every job where the shade has to match a standard, and ordinary deep red surfaces as well.
Safety: when spraying, make sure there is enough ventilation and protect your airways with a respirator, ideally working in an extraction booth. Keep out of the reach of children.
