S066 Bright Green - (Gloss) Spray

Gunze Mr.Color Spray S066 Bright Green (gloss)

A lacquer aerosol spray in a bright, lively green with a high gloss by the Japanese brand Gunze (GSI Creos), the Mr.Color Spray range. It sprays straight from the can, without an airbrush and a compressor. It is neither an acrylic nor an enamel — Mr.Color is a lacquer with a solvent chemistry of its own; it holds as a firm glossy film, but at the same time it attacks bare plastic slightly.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly before spraying and between coats so that the pigment is mixed through evenly.
• Lay it down in thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 cm; several thin coats are better than one heavy one, which would run.
• Lacquer attacks plastic, so on demanding parts or for a clean base use a surfacer first — with bright colors a white one is best.
• A lively green darkens over a dark surface and loses its brightness; over a light, white surface it comes through to the full.
• The high gloss makes a smooth area under decals as well as on glossy bodies and can be brought out further with a clear coat on top.
• Spray in warm, dry conditions and in a well-ventilated space; in damp or cold the lacquer may whiten.

Who it is for

For modelers who want a strong green without mixing and without an airbrush — custom builds, mecha and robots, energy and light elements, and above all racing cars and motorcycles, where it suits a saturated shade of the Kawasaki green kind. It works on large glossy areas as well as a base under decals.

Safety: a lacquer spray — flammable, the vapors irritate the airways. Use a respirator, spray only in a well-ventilated space away from open flame and out of the reach of children.
