S110 Character Blue - (Semi Gloss) Spray

Gunze Mr.Color Spray S110 Character Blue — (Semi Gloss)

Mr.Color Spray S110 by Gunze is a semi-gloss lacquer aerosol with a volume of 40 ml in a bright saturated blue from the Character Color range. It is the spray version of the Mr.Color paints — a ready coat without an airbrush and without thinning. Watch out: it is a lacquer, not an acrylic paint — the solvent can attack sensitive plastic.

What the Character Color paints are

Character Color is a range tuned for painting anime and manga characters, robots (Gundam / mecha) and game figures. Against the muted realistic (military) shades these paints are more saturated, cleaner and brighter — exactly the way robots and characters look on screen. A semi-gloss finish is the typical finish of mecha models. The white, red, yellow and blue of this range make up the classic Gundam four — more than one of them often suits a single model.

Specifically, S110 is a bright blue — the color of the body as well as of the prominent accents of robots. A saturated blue comes through well over a light base; for a clean result lay it down in more thin coats.

Use

• Before use shake the spray thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes so that the pigment is mixed through.
• Lay it down in thin coats from a distance of about 25 cm; a heavy coat from close up causes runs.
• For full saturation a light base helps (a white surfacer).
• Spray in warm, dry conditions — in damp there is a risk of a white haze on the surface.

Who it is for

• Builders of Gunpla, anime figures and game models.
• Anyone who wants to lay a bright blue on the body and accents of robots down fast without an airbrush.

A lacquer spray. Flammable, it irritates the airways. Use it in a well-ventilated space or outdoors, with a respirator and away from open flame.
