Tamiya Sanding Sponge Sheet, 600 grit

Tamiya Sanding Sponge Sheet, 600 grit is an abrasive foam sheet in a coarser 600 grit. The aluminum oxide abrasive is applied to a flexible foam backing about 5 mm thick, which conforms to the shape of a part — curved surfaces, roundings and corners. The sheet can easily be cut with a modeling knife to whatever shape you need. With grits the rule is that a lower number means a coarser abrasive and a higher number a finer one — 600 is the coarser grade, intended for quicker removal of material, chamfering edges and removing flash.

Use

• Chamfering and leveling edges, sanding down projections and plastic flash
• Removing the marks left by nipping parts off the frame and coarser leveling of joints
• Quicker work on a surface before moving on to finer grits
• Smoothing curved surfaces where stiff sandpaper does not follow the shape
• We recommend sanding wet — that reduces clogging of the abrasive

Who it is for

For plastic modelers who first need coarser removal — to level joints, chamfer edges and take off flash before moving on to finer sanding. Suitable also for working surfaces of wood or metal. The flexible foam makes work on shaped parts easier.

For the best result we recommend sanding wet. It is an abrasive material with no chemical content.
