Quick Marker from AK Interactive is not a kit but a coloring marker. It is filled with an acrylic contrast (speed) paint — the same chemistry AK supplies in the bottles of the Quick Gen range, only in a marker with a flexible brush tip that behaves like a brush with a built-in reservoir of paint. Space Red is a rich, vivid red tuned for sci-fi and wargaming.
The paint is semi-transparent. It flows by itself into recesses, folds and engraved lines, where it pools and darkens, while on raised areas it thins out and lightens. The result is the shade together with shading in a single coat. The condition, however, is a light base — a white or bone primer. On a dark or black primer a contrast paint does not do its job, because it has nothing to shine through.
With red this is even more critical than with yellow. Red pigment has very low opacity — over a gray or dark base it turns brownish and loses its brightness. Only over a white base is red truly red.
For players and figure collectors who want a legible result with shading quickly, and for modelers doing details and touch-ups. Shake the marker thoroughly before use and run the tip in away from the model. The paint is acrylic, so it is water-thinnable — the tip and your tools are cleaned with water before it dries. Once dry, the surface can be over-varnished.
This is a coloring marker, not a kit. Keep out of the reach of children, work in a ventilated space and protect the tip from damage on a rough surface.
