A metallic stainless steel shade from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez range, carried under the manufacturer's part number A.MIG-2314. It suits exhausts, engine casings and metal forgings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade named after stainless steel belongs among the metallic tones. Compared with aluminum shades it is cooler and less bright, closer to gray with a metallic sheen. It comes into its own where a surface is plainly meant to be steel and not light alloy: exhaust parts, engine casings, cooling covers, barrels, tool blades, metal parts of chassis and weapons. It also serves well on small diorama accessories, that is on containers, structures and tools that should read as steel.
Metallic shades cannot hide an imperfection; on the contrary, they emphasize it. Sand the surface smooth beforehand and let it cure. A smooth gloss base gives the best result, while on a matte and porous surface a metallic shade looks grainy and dull. Stir the paint thoroughly before applying it, because the metallic pigment settles at the bottom and without stirring the shade stays weak and uneven.
Apply it in thin coats; a heavy coat settles the pigment unevenly and the surface then looks blotchy. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Mask carefully, as metallic coats take peeling worse than ordinary shades, and test on a piece of scrap plastic first. Reckon also with the fact that varnish laid over a metallic shade can dull its sheen; try it out on a sample first. Let the finished coat cure properly before you glue further parts onto it.
A model, thinner, brushes and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
