Responsibility details are not available.
A publication from Kagero's naval line. The name names a single ship, the Japanese battleship Hyuga, and specifies nothing further.
The Hyuga was one of the two Japanese battleships of her class, brought into service in the period of the First World War and modernized later. The main battery consisted of 356 mm guns in twin turrets, and after the rebuild the silhouette was marked by a tall stepped superstructure. A peculiarity of her fate is the later conversion into what is called a hybrid ship, when part of the after gun turrets gave way to a flight deck for aircraft. The ship thus went through two very different forms over her career.
With the Hyuga in particular, a model cannot be built correctly without pinning down the period. The versions before and after the rebuild differ across the whole after part of the ship, in the layout of the superstructure and in the armament. Which period the title follows should be checked in its table of contents; the ship herself is interesting to modelers and readers alike precisely because of this transformation. When buying a kit, therefore, always check which configuration that model represents.
This is a printed publication. It is not a kit and not an accessory; the package holds no modeling parts.
