The second sheet of Royal Model non-slip plate offers a different photo-etched relief from number one and widens the choice of surfaces for equipment and scenery in 1:35.

A metal plate of roughly ten by seven centimeters carries a different relief from the first sheet of the same range. Modelers usually reach for both, because real machines differ in the form of their plate according to the maker and to the period in which they were built.
The different patterns are not just decoration. A coarser relief appears where a crew moves in heavy boots and with a load, that is on crane platforms, on the rear decks of tractors or on walkways. A finer tread is found in places where a coarse surface would get in the way, on hatches and in interiors. If you use two different grids in one scene, it gains credibility at once, because that is exactly what real equipment gathered from various sources looks like. The same trick works on repaired vehicles too, where a patch never matches the original plate.
Cut the plate along a straight ruler and level the edges with a fine file; the metal is pliable and a bad cut can be seen even after painting. Degrease the surface before gluing and apply a primer once it is fixed in place. The relief stands out if, once it has dried, you lay a thin coat of a dark shade over it and then apply a light color with a dry brush from above.
The package contains the plate itself, without templates, glue and paints.
