A purple shade with a blue undertone acts cooler than the amethyst tones and comes close to the color of an evening sky reflected in polished metal. It finds a use on the armor of celestial beings, on runes, on enchanted blades and everywhere a surface is to look airy rather than expensive. The bottle carries the light grade, that is, the top tone of the system, with which work on metal is closed.
Right beside it in the system stands a purple tuned toward red. The difference between them is inconspicuous when you look at the bottle, but on a model it decides. The cooler tone retreats into the background, gets on well with blue and silver areas and suits large parts that are not meant to pull attention over to themselves. The warmer neighbor, on the contrary, steps forward and is more fitting on small decorative elements that are meant to be seen. When you are building a model with a silver or blue predominance, reach for this one; with a gold and copper tuning the warmer variant will suit better.
The two shades can be mixed to obtain an intermediate grade that matches the rest of the model's color scheme exactly.
The procedure follows the same principles as with the other paints with a metal pigment: a smoothly prepared ground, honest stirring of the contents and several weak applications instead of one heavy one. It also pays to work in good light, because cool purple tones change their character with the lighting and look different under artificial light than in daylight.
