A kit of the French Char B1 heavy tank in a caricature styling, from the World War Toons range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Char B1 is a French heavy tank of the 1930s, and you recognize it at first sight by its twin armament: a short 75 mm howitzer is built directly into the front of the hull and is aimed by turning the whole vehicle, while a smaller gun sits in a rotating turret. The turret was worked by a single man who commanded, loaded and fired at the same time, which was its greatest weakness in combat. The armor, on the other hand, was among the thickest seen on the battlefield in 1940.
A model in a caricature styling: the hull is markedly shortened compared with the real subject and the proportions are deliberately exaggerated, but the recognition features of the tank are kept, so you spot the subject at once. No scale is given for models styled like this, because the dimensions of the real vehicle are intentionally not kept. The scope of the set, the way the parts join and whether decals are included are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
It is a suitable first kit for children and equally a relaxing job for a modeler who wants a rest between two big projects. The build is short and the finished model stands up to ordinary handling. Painting is not a condition, but a painted model looks better; use paints for plastic models and apply them in thin coats. A styled shape takes bold shading well: a darker shade in the recesses and a lighter one on the raised areas give the model the depth that a simplified shape would otherwise lack.
Paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
