A saturated yellow from the strengthened version of the Xpress Color line. The higher proportion of pigment gives the paint full strength even where an ordinary yellow stays pale.

Dreadnought Yellow belongs to the strengthened branch of the color line, marked with the word Intense. Against the basic line it has a markedly higher proportion of colorant, so a yellow, which otherwise belongs among the worst-covering shades of all, holds its tone even in a single application. It finds a use on the armor of fantasy machines, on warning stripes, on construction equipment and on the heraldic areas of shields and banners.
Anyone used to the ordinary version will drop the same dose as usual and be surprised by what happens. The strengthened paint colors far more with the same volume, the surplus crowds into the hollows and dries there as an opaque mass that does not bring the detail out but floods it. So it begins with the dose. Take roughly half the amount, spread it across the area before it draws anywhere, and add the rest only where too little paint is visible.
Under a yellow it holds doubly that the ground decides. On a white base the shade comes out bright and clean, on a gray one damped and more earthy, on a dark one it sinks into olive. Try the application out on an offcut of sprue with the same ground as on the model; it will save having to repaint a finished part.
