A yellow marker for small work

A marker from the modeling range for finishing effects. The paint is ready right in the tip, so there is no setting up of a gun, no mixing and no washing of a brush. You take the cap off and draw. On models yellow comes into its own on warning stripes, on markings and lettering, on small lights and anywhere a strong tone is wanted on a small area and spraying would mean needless masking.

How to prepare the marker and use it

Before the first use, prepare it according to the instructions on the packaging; with writing implements of this kind it is usually shaken and the tip is pressed against a surface several times until the paint comes to the point. Use short strokes in one direction and lay the second coat down only on a dried first one, otherwise the tip will pull the coat underneath off again. Before you run the marker over a painted area, try the compatibility of the two coats on a hidden place, for example on the underside of a part.

What to reckon with in addition with yellow

• yellow covers worse than dark shades; on a dark surface it needs a light preparation
• reckon on several light passes rather than one heavy one
• the edges of a stroke are easier to even out while the paint is fresh
• the thinner and the way of cleaning are given by the manufacturer on the packaging
• press the cap firmly home after work, as a dried tip cannot be put right
