Hobby Historie belongs to the history side of the literature rather than the method side, and it has its own heading here. Periodicals of this kind play a supporting but genuinely useful role for a modeller: they supply the facts and the photographs that a build then proceeds from. What matters to a builder is the detail a kit instruction sheet skips - when and where a machine served, how it was marked and what state it was normally in. Unit histories and period photographs are also what a figure or a small scene is built from, down to what a crew wore and what it carried: the castings are in model figures and the machines they stand beside in military vehicle kits.
