The triangular styrene profile has a right-angled or equilateral triangular section and does two jobs on a model: diagonal bracing and corner fillets. Sizes run from 0.8 mm to 5 mm, the length is 250 mm, and finer sections are available for small work.
One short piece glued into a corner turns a flexing joint into a rigid assembly, and at the same time imitates the angled gusset a real structure would carry there. It is the most useful structural part in any modeller's drawer.

The first is visible: an angled brace between a wall and a floor, a gusset under a bracket, a wedge rib on a superstructure, a chamfered frame edge. The second is hidden: a short piece glued inside a corner acts as a fillet block and holds two parts at a true right angle until the cement has set hard.
Sizes under one millimetre belong in interiors and in 1:48 and smaller. A 2 mm section reads in 1:35 as a gusset around seven centimetres thick, which is what the plate gussets on real superstructures measure. The 3 mm pieces make sense in large scales and in scenes where timber framing is being built.
When building boxy structures, a triangle is the simplest way to hold a right angle. Two short pieces glued inside the corner keep the walls square more reliably than a hand or a rubber band, and they are no nuisance afterwards because they stay out of sight. On larger assemblies that saves a long session of straightening and filling later.
A solid triangular section cuts well, but always bring the blade against the widest face rather than against the apex. The apex folds under the blade and the cut comes out skewed. Dress the ends lightly so the piece seats in the corner without a gap; the abrasives are under sanding tools.
Braces and wedge gussets are typical armour details, so the sets that follow on are in military vehicle accessories.
