Fire extinguishers for German vehicles of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. Four printed parts with a fine surface that will replace the coarse plastic molding.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four fire extinguishers for German vehicles of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory, not a model. The parts are made by 3D printing from resin, so they have a clean cylindrical body, a distinct head with a valve and fine details of the mount, which get lost in plastic at this scale.
A portable fire extinguisher was part of the required equipment of combat and cargo vehicles alike. It used to be held in a bracket on the fender, on the wall of the cargo bed or inside the fighting compartment near the driver's position. The engine and fuel section of a vehicle burned fast and a crew had only a few seconds to act, so the extinguisher had to be at hand. On a model it is one of the features that give away at once whether the builder took trouble over the equipment.
Separate the parts from the supports with a sharp knife, sand down the pad left by a support and wash the surface in lukewarm water with dish soap. They are glued with super glue. Red covers poorly, so a white or gray primer and several thin coats pay off. A satin varnish then gives the body a fine sheen and small scrapes on the edges turn a clean part into a used thing.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
