Weighted wheels for the Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen cars in 1:35 scale for the Tamiya and Meng kits. The form with the early balloon pattern.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of weighted wheels for the German Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen light cars in 1:35 scale from the maker DEF Model, in the form with the early balloon pattern. This is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part. Weighted means a flattened contact patch, thanks to which a light car looks as if it really stood on its wheels. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Tamiya and Meng kits.
The Kübelwagen was a light cross-country car derived from the people's car, the Schwimmwagen its amphibious relative. Both cars were built in enormous numbers and drove on every front, from the African sands to the Russian mud. The early machines were shod with balloon tires, that is, softer rubber with a taller profile, which worked better on a soft surface than the harder later types.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out; they are glued with super glue. Seat the wheel with the flattened part pointing exactly downward, otherwise the car will look tilted. On a vehicle this light do not overdo the dirt; a hint of dust along the sides and a somewhat stronger treatment under the fenders is enough.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Tamiya and Meng kits, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
