A resin accessory set of the American AN/GRC-93 ground radio set in 1:48 scale from the brand Firma49. It is not a kit of a vehicle or of an aircraft but a detail accessory: the radio set is seated in a vehicle interior, on a cargo bed or in a command post on a diorama. The base kit is not included in the package.
In the American system for marking military electronics the AN/GRC designation belongs to ground radio sets: the letter G says that the equipment is ground, R that it is radio and C that it is for communication. Radio sets of this kind were carried in armored and cargo vehicles and formed the communications node of staffs, artillery posts and forward command posts. Without them a vehicle interior and a command post on a diorama look empty, and that is exactly why such accessories are made.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks or the supports with a fine-toothed saw and sand the surfaces level. Wash the resin in warm soapy water before painting; otherwise the paint will not take on the mold release residue. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, cement for polystyrene does not work here. Use a primer from a spray can as a base, then the covering shade, paint in the front panels and the dials with a fine brush and tie the whole together with a dark wash in the recesses.
This is an accessory set. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
