Responsibility details are not available.
A collector's model of the Italian AS42 Sahariana desert car in the version armed with the 20 mm Solothurn S18-1100 anti-tank rifle. The 1:100 scale is used in tabletop wargames and in dioramas where a whole unit has to be visible. The finished car is only a few centimeters long.
The Sahariana was built for the Italian long-range desert units in North Africa: a four-wheeled car with fuel and water cans along its sides, able to drive for several days away from the supply routes. This version carries the Solothurn anti-tank rifle, a 20 mm semi-automatic weapon of Swiss manufacture, served straight from the body of the car. By the beginning of 1943 it was already too weak against the armor of medium tanks, but it was enough against lightly protected targets and reconnaissance cars. The army received the first vehicles in the autumn of 1942.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade a little away from their shape and sand the surface smooth. Match the glue to the material of the parts: cyanoacrylate glue holds on resin, cement for plastic on polystyrene. The barrel of the weapon is the thinnest part of the whole model, so cut it off last. Over the base desert shade, put a dark wash into the recesses and pick out the frames, the cans and the tarpaulin in a different tone, otherwise the car will merge into one flat surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
