An injection-molded plastic kit of the Airbus A320neo airliner in 1:144 scale from the German manufacturer Revell. The set comes in the Model Set edition, so alongside the sprues with the parts, the decals and the instructions it also holds the basic paints, a brush and cement for polystyrene. The decals carry the Lufthansa livery in its new form, and the manufacturer also lists a stand for the finished model in the package.
The A320neo is a modernized line of narrow-body Airbuses. The abbreviation neo stands for new engine option: the aircraft received engines of a new generation and surfaces bent up at the wing tips, which cut the losses at the end of the lifting surface. Lufthansa was one of the first operators of the type and in 2018 it presented a new corporate livery in which the yellow disappeared from the emblem and the blue grew darker. That is exactly the form on the decals, so the model fits into a collection of civil aircraft of the last decade.
With airliners a clean smooth surface decides the result. Fill the fuselage joints and sand them back carefully with fine paper, otherwise the white paint will emphasize them. Spray the white onto a light base, ideally from an airbrush in several thin coats. Transfer the large striped decals onto a damp, smooth gloss base and press them down with a soft cloth from the middle out to the edges. Mask the cabin windows so that they do not get showered with paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. In the Model Set edition the basic paints, a brush and glue are included in the package; other accessories are not.
