An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The subject is the Subaru 360 in the more sportingly tuned Young-SS version; according to the name a figure of a girl in the period style of the 1960s is included in the package as well. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Subaru 360 was the brand's first series passenger car and a fundamental representative of the Japanese kei class, that is the smallest tax category of cars with strictly limited dimensions and engine capacity. The car had a very light structure, an air-cooled two-stroke engine mounted at the rear and a characteristically rounded body, which earned it a nickname alluding to a beetle. The Young-SS version was among the more powerful forms aimed at younger and more sportingly minded customers. It is precisely the small dimensions of the subject that make a model in 1:24 a pleasantly compact piece for a cabinet.
A small body means that every detail shows: sand the parting lines, apply a filler primer and spray the paint in thin coats. Bring out the chrome strips, the window frames and the bumpers with a fine brush or with a metallic finish. Paint the figure separately from the car and start with the skin: lay down the base tone, soften the transitions and finally add the eyes and the details of the clothing with the finest brush. Before you place the figure, try dry how it composes with the car. Finish the interior and the dashboard before you close the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
