Lithokraft 1:35 stowage rack with a box for the Panzer III Ausf. J/L, 10th Panzer Division, version 2 is a resin set for building a particular vehicle. It is an accessory, not a kit of the tank.

The set is an accessory for a build, not a model of the vehicle. To the Panzer III in its Ausf. J and L versions in 1:35 scale it adds a stowage rack with a box in the pattern that the manufacturer ties to the 10th Panzer Division. The manufacturer tells apart two versions of the same assembly and this is version 2; they differ in the pattern of the supporting structure, so base your choice on a photograph of the vehicle you are building. The resin parts carry detail of the hinges and catches.
The Panzer III in its Ausf. J and L versions received thicker frontal armor and a longer gun of 50 mm caliber, with which it was the main type of the tank companies in 1942 and 1943. Unit workshops fitted racks and boxes for kit to the hulls, because the space inside the vehicle was not enough for supplies for longer operations. The pattern differed from division to division and is so typical of the units that it serves as a pointer when identifying vehicles in period photographs. The 10th Panzer Division went through the campaign in France and the fighting on the Eastern Front and ended its course in Tunisia, where it was destroyed in 1943.
Separate the parts from the print supports and dry-fit the supporting structure before you reach for the glue, as the rack has to sit on the outline of the hull. Glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the rack and the box separately and seat them on the finished vehicle, because paint and patina are hard to do underneath them. Let a wash into the gaps and go over the edges of the box with a dry brush.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
